Geihō Styles
(芸法流 - Geihō-ryū)
Info
A Geihō Style is a specific "school" or tradition of kikon-jin supernatural arts. While all kikon-jin have the innate potential to manipulate Chi, the specific powers they develop are not universal. Their abilities are shaped by a unique combination of their cultural upbringing, personal philosophy, and spiritual bonds. This ensures that the powers of a kikon-jin are a direct reflection of their identity, preventing any two from being exactly alike.

Nature & Principles
-
Core Definition: The specific application of universal supernatural potential, filtered through the lens of a kikon-jin's background and beliefs.
-
The Three Pillars of Style: A kikon-jin's personal Geihō is a unique blend of three primary influences:
-
Council Dogma (The "National" Style): The largest influence. Each Great Council has a centuries-old tradition of mystical and martial arts that reflects its core ideology. This is the foundational training a kikon-jin receives.
-
Gedō no Michi (The "Philosophical" Style): A kikon-jin's chosen Path determines their personal relationship with their powers. This refines their training, causing them to favor Arts that align with their worldview and their method of managing their Akuryo.
-
Nakama Patronage (The "Local" Flavor): The patron spirit of a kikon-jin's Nakama can provide subtle but unique affinities, making it easier for the group's members to learn or excel at certain related Arts.
-
The Major Council Styles
-
The Council of Yamato (Rei-Bushidō - 霊武士道): A style focused on martial precision and discipline. It eschews flashy displays for minimalist, devastatingly effective Arts that are often channeled through a weapon or a single, perfect action.
- Key Arts:
- Ichi no Tachi - The Single Stroke
- Mizu no Kokoro - Mind of Still Water
- Hama Ya - The Purifying Arrow
- Key Arts:
-
The Celestial Court of the Middle Kingdom (Imperial Mandate Style): A style focused on order, control, and grand-scale rituals. Its Arts are designed to command legions of spirits, control large territories, and enforce a rigid social and supernatural hierarchy.
-
The Himalayan Sanctuary (The Mandala Style): A style focused on spiritual purification, absolute defense, and non-violence. Its Arts are used to create impenetrable wards, pacify enraged spirits, and perceive the karmic state of others.
-
The Jade Phoenix Coalition (The Abacus Style): A style focused on pragmatism, espionage, and commerce. Its Arts are subtle, designed to manipulate desires, enforce contracts through magical means, and gain information.
-
The Hermit Kingdom Assembly (The Silent Moon Style): A style focused on assassination, misdirection, and shamanistic unpredictability. It blends traditional arts of stealth with unique pacts that grant chaotic and unexpected powers.
-
The Mekong Accord (The Lotus and Mangrove Style): A style focused on symbiosis and environmental attrition. Its practitioners form pacts with local spirits to turn the very land and water against their foes, using ecological curses and guerrilla tactics.
-
The Nusantara Assembly (The Kris and Current Style): A style focused on naval power and volcanic fury. It combines arts of sea-spirit bonding with the raw, chaotic power drawn from the Ring of Fire.
-
The Steppe Eternal (The Ghost Rider Style): A style focused on mobility, mounted combat, and shamanistic warfare. Its Arts are designed for lightning-fast raids, empowering their steeds and arrows with supernatural energy.
Independent or Specialized Styles
These are rarer, more personalized arts that are not tied to a specific Council's dogma. They often arise from an individual's unique history, profession, or spiritual pacts.
- Iki-bori Geihō - The Art of the Living Tattoo.
